Outlander Season 3 came to an end with some mixed live ratings. Here’s our ratings throwback to mark the two-year anniversary.

On Dec. 10, 2017, Outlander Season 3 came to an end. The finale brought us a reunion between Ian and Jamie, while it also delivered one of the strongest Lord John Grey moments of the entire series. Here’s a look back at the ratings for the episode.

The Season 3 finale did see mixed results when it came to the live ratings. The downside was the drop in the total audience. It saw a 5% drop from the previous episode, pulling in 1.427 million. This was still a great result, though, up considerably from two episodes previously.

While the audience was down, the demo was up by 3%, back up to 0.3. Just to put this in perspective when it comes to network TV, both metrics were on par with The CW ratings now. There was certainly nothing to grumble about.

The Season 3 finale certainly took us on a wild ride by the end of it. After seeing Geillis back in the penultimate episode, this one brought us her twisted story, as she figured out the true meaning behind the prophecy. Well, the meaning she thought was the true one. We got a link back to Claire’s time in the 20th century when she killed Geillis to protect her daughter.

Then there was the trip back on the seas. Everyone left Jamaica for Scotland, but they wouldn’t quite make it. Thanks to a storm, Claire and Jamie would find themselves shipwrecked in Georgia. And for Droughtlander, we’d be left wondering about their next move (and reaching for the fourth book in the series to get ahead if we hadn’t read it already).
