Paul Gorman has now been confirmed as the Beardsley twins in Outlander Season 5. Want to know more about the actor? Here’s a look at his previous roles.

Paul Gorman has now officially been confirmed as playing both Jeziah and Keziah Beardsley in Outlander Season 5. It’s going to be interesting to see one actor take on two, very important, roles in Lizzie’s story. But you want to know more about the actor, right? Who is Paul Gorman?

If you do a Google search, it’s not going to be easy to find out much. You have to put in the term “Outlander” in the search to even start. And then you get all the news reports that have popped up since STARZ confirmed Gorman’s role in the upcoming season.

Experience on stage and screen

More from Casting

The majority of Gorman’s experience has been on the stage, which will certainly help when it comes to playing two characters at the same time. After all, stage productions require you to always act when you’re visible to the people. This isn’t like TV, where you can pull faces when the cameras are rolling behind you.

Stage requires some subtler movements or facial expressions too. You need to react in a way that’s relevant to something that’s happened, while also remaining in character when things go wrong. These skills will come in handy to show us the subtle differences between the two twins.

He also has radio experience, which is a completely different type of acting. It’s more about the voice, bringing emotions and feelings through the words. This will come in play to help distinguish between the two characters he’s playing.

According to his United Agents CV, this is going to be Gorman’s first TV role. He’s done two movies before, but not a TV series that will require longer days and more time on set since filming can take longer. This is especially for a role that has him playing two characters that do have important roles. If the show sticks to the books, the twins are going to be around for some time.

It’s exciting to see him get to do his first professional TV role on our favorite show. We’ll be able to go in without thinking of him as another character, while we see the discipline that comes from stage acting.

Active on social media

If you like to get to know the actors a little more personally, you’ll likely turn to social media. This is where you can find out more about their interests and any other projects they’re in. Paul Gorman is certainly active on social media.

This isn’t just a place for him to share about his own projects. He actively supports others in projects, especially when it comes to stage productions. He’s also not afraid to share his views in the political world, so he’ll fit right in with Caitriona Balfe, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and others who tweet a lot about causes.
