Three actors may be joining Outlander Season 5. While not officially confirmed, there are some production notes that suggest their roles.
There are three actors possibly joining Outlander for the fifth season. None of these roles have been officially confirmed by STARZ just yet, but they have been noted by fans who have looked at talent bio updates.
Caution: There are some books spoilers in this post if you haven’t read “The Fiery Cross” and beyond just yet. I’ll be sharing some details of who the characters are.
Paul Gorman possibly the Beardsley twins

It looks like the production is opting to cast one person for the role of twins instead of finding a set of twins. While the CGI isn’t the best part of the show, the use of one person for twins has been done plenty in the past on other shows and in movies without too many problems so this isn’t too much to worry about.
Paul Gorman is slated to play the role of the Beardsley twins, who certainly find themselves attached to one woman, Lizzie! Bree’s young servant (who Bree certainly doesn’t treat that way but bought her to protect her) will end up falling for both men and finding a way to marry both! Yes, really!
What’s interesting to note is that the casting of the role has been removed from Paul’s United Agents profile since Outlander fans initially spotted it. It’s unlikely that the listing was a mistake in terms of role but that it shouldn’t have been added right away. STARZ has been extremely quiet about casting.
Hugh Ross as Mr. Bug
The next casting is for Arch Bug, who may be played by Hugh Ross. The exact role has now been removed from his Independent Talent profile, but he is going to be connected to the series in some sort of way. It’s possible that the role was added by mistake due to numerous embargos.
Arch Bug, and his wife Murdina, have a small role in “The Fiery Cross.” Their parts grow with later books. They live at Fraser’s Ridge after they meet Jamie Fraser at the Gathering at Mount Helicon. Arch wouldn’t be able to serve in Jamie’s militia that he has to put together due to age and an injury. Jamie realizes he has someone to look after the Ridge while he’s away.
There’s no word on who will play Murdina. However, what is interesting is that many fans thought the Bugs might be written out of Season 5. Instead, it looks like they’re going to be in it for one episode, an episode directed by Annie Griffin.
Alistair Findlay as Duncan Innes
Thought that Murtagh was taking over Duncan Innes’ role in the story? That may not be the case after all. It looks like the show is casting Alistair Findlay in the role. Spotlight is where we get this information from.
In this case, we still have the role listed on his profile. He’ll also be in an episode directed by Stephen Woollfendon. This doesn’t tell us when Duncan is going to show up, but that he will.
What could this mean? In the novels, Duncan marries Jocasta. Many Outlander fans thought that Murtagh had taken over that storyline, but is it possible that Jocasta knows that she just can’t possibly marry Murtagh and that she needs to have a non-wanted man like Duncan? There is a wedding for Jocasta reportedly coming, so it could be the case!
