Outlander Season 3, Episode 3 aired for the first time on this day in history. We got to see Jamie’s life in prison and how Frank’s life would end. Here’s a look back at the ratings.

It’s the two-year anniversary of Outlander Season 3, Episode 3 premiering. This was the episode that saw us take more baby steps to reuniting Claire and Jamie, and the ratings certainly showed that fans were interested.

For many, we knew it was going to be Tobias Menzies’ last episode. The EPs had shared that Menzies would only be in the first three episodes, so this episode was going to include his death. That immediately made some fans tune in, wanting to see how it would end, as well as getting that glimpse of one part of the story closing off for another part to open up.

Then there was the knowledge that we would head to Ardsmuir. There was hope that there would be the big reveal of what happened to Murtagh, and that was exactly the case. Of course, we also knew that we’d meet Lord John Grey, played by David Berry, for the first time since Culloden. It would be time for Jamie and John’s unique bond to begin.
