2. His reaction when he learned about Bonnet
Roger had been through one hell of an ordeal, but it wasn’t going to be over when Claire and Jamie rescued him. He learned about everything that had happened to Brianna and how Stephen Bonnet was the one involved.
The venom in Roger’s voice was clear and shocking. He was quite a mellow guy, but he had so much hatred for this man. It’s not all that surprising why considering his own dealings with Bonnet. To hear that there was a chance that the baby could be Bonnets was more than Roger could take, and that was clear.
1. Returning for the priest
One of my favorite Outlander Season 4 episodes is “Providence.” I didn’t even notice Claire and Jamie were barely in it because I was drawn into Roger and Brianna’s storylines. More specifically, I was drawn into the character development Roger received in this episode.
After talking to the priest, it looked like he would get a chance to escape. However, hearing the priest’s screams in the fire, Roger knew that he couldn’t just walk away. Despite knowing it meant heading back to captivity, Roger helped reduce the pain the priest would feel in the fire.
