The potential time for the Outlander panel at NYCC 2019 has been released. The length of the panel hints that there likely won’t be a screening.
There’s more information about Outlander at New York Comic-Con 2019. The time for the panel has been released, along with when it ends. This timing hints that there won’t be a screening of the Season 5 premiere.
Deadline reports that the panel will take place between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 5. We already knew the day, but the timing is new information. With only an hour to discuss the show, it’s highly unlikely we’ll get a screening of the episode.

In 2018, the panel lasted an hour and a half, meaning that there was plenty of time for a screening. The episodes are usually an hour in length, so the panel needed to be slightly longer to allow some time for discussions afterward.
Since NYCC 2019’s panel is only going to be an hour in length, it means we won’t have time for a screening and a discussion. This shouldn’t be all that surprising. I’d speculated earlier that there wouldn’t be a screening because of the timing of the panel vs. the timing of the Season 5 release.
Also, just for comparison, Castle Rock‘s panel is before Outlander and will last 90 minutes. In the same article, Deadline shared that there will be a screening of the premiere episode for Season 2, which continues to suggest we won’t get one for Season 5.
Instead, an hour certainly seems enough time to give us the first Season 5 promo. It could even include a sneak peek. Most of the focus is definitely going to be on a discussion of what’s come before and what’s in store for the characters moving forward.
We know that five actors from the series are attending the panel. David Berry is the most intriguing since his character doesn’t technically show up in the fifth book except through the form of letters. Diana Gabaldon will also be there.
Ron D. Moore and Maril Davis are also both attending the panel. That means a behind-the-scenes look at what to expect.
