There are rumors circulating that Caitriona Balfe and Tony McGill married in a private ceremony. You know what? It’s none of our business!

Some celebrities like to keep things private. That’s certainly the case for Outlander co-stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. The fact that Balfe may have married Tony McGill is absolutely none of our business.

Of course, we’d love to wish her congratulations if this is the case. But if she really wanted to share the details or wanted us to know about her private life, then she would have mentioned something on social media. Why has it come to publications going digging into public records (okay, they’re public but people have to go looking for them!) to see if weddings have taken place?

More from Caitriona Balfe

Balfe whole relationship with music producer McGill has been private. The only reason fans learned that she was engaged was because she was spotted wearing an engagement ring. Press asked her if she was engaged, and she gave an honest, polite, and short response.

While Sam Heughan did share a photo of himself looking suave in a suit, he didn’t share any details about the event that he was at. That must be a clear sign that this is something Balfe and her possible new husband want to keep quiet. Just because they are celebrities doesn’t mean that everything needs to be made public. They are entitled to a private life.

Balfe doesn’t even share images of her and McGill on her social media. She keeps Twitter and Instagram for work purposes, whether it’s acting or charity related.

I fully respect this decision. There are lots of elements of my private life people who follow me on Twitter won’t get to hear. I very rarely share anything about my family, unless I have clocks stopping at eerily similar times or a puppy who likes to lay in some of the strangest of places. There are some things we all need to keep out of the public and for Balfe, it’s her private life (that is why it’s called such a thing).

So, please, can we stop going hunting for anything and everything about the Outlander stars. When they want to share something, let them be the ones to share it. Let’s respect that they are people too!

The only time I share images that aren’t officially shared is when it’s leaked images from the set from fans. That’s mainly because it offers a chance to speculate about the upcoming season and has nothing to do with an actor’s personal life.
