Will STARZ use Outlander teasers to help through Droughtlander?

Droughtlander is longer than many of us would like. How are we going to deal? Could STARZ help with the use of Outlander teasers?

Outlander Season 5 isn’t going to premiere until 2020. And “early 2020” won’t likely mean January. So, Droughtlander is longer than many of us wanted. Will STARZ help us get through it by releasing some Outlander teasers?

It’s certainly possible but I wouldn’t expect it right now. We have had some teases or behind-the-scene looks at the upcoming season, with one happening just before the premiere of latest STARZ Original, The Spanish Princess. This was certainly a happy surprise.

STARZ has also been more active on the official Twitter and Facebook feeds. We’ve had a look at some new characters, mostly Adso, and celebrations of Outlander Day and other special occasions. Hopefully, this is something that will continue.

But what about official teasers? We may get a sneak peek in a similar way to Season 4. After airing an initial 20-second tease at the end of Season 3, STARZ released a sneak peek of Season 4’s premiere in January 2018.

So far, we’ve not had an official sneak peek or teaser for Season 5. With filming now almost four months in, we could find that something is released soon. Maybe we’ll get a sneak peek of the Outlander Season 5 premiere before the summer ends.

If not, the first trailer for Season 5 is likely to be released around November time. This would be three to four months before the likely premiere date. We could even get more of an idea of the month the season will premiere. It suits the timing for Season 4, which saw a trailer released in July 2018 for the November release date.

The trailer may come a little sooner. There is a chance the cast and EPs will appear at NYCC in October. If that’s the case, a trailer and/or sneak peek could be released then to help tide people over during Droughtlander.

It’s not an easy time, especially with little coming from the filming, but STARZ could help. I’d keep an eye out on the social media platforms as the network seems to be a little more vocal during the break this time.
