The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance at SDCC 2019: Panel time, streaming info, and more

Outlander isn’t at SDCC 2019 but there’s still a presence. One of those is Caitriona Balfe’s upcoming new series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Here are all the panel details you need.

Caitriona Balfe is currently filming Outlander Season 5, but during her filming break, she did the voice for a character on Netflix’s upcoming animated series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The series as a panel at SDCC 2019 later today and you won’t want to miss it.

While Balfe isn’t likely to be at the panel (the talent on the panel hasn’t been confirmed yet), there are many Sassenachs who want to support the upcoming series. Plus, there will be many Sassenachs who were fans of the original movie, The Dark Crystal, and will want to watch the prequel series.

The panel takes place in Hall H. This is the largest room at the whole of the con, suggesting that SDCC believes many people will turn up. You’ll want to get there early. I’d suggest getting in there for at least the panel before, which is Netflix’s The Witcher and expected to be just as packed. Before that is The Walking Dead.

People are allowed to remain in the room the whole time — and some do! — I just don’t want you to miss out.

If you’re not at San Diego Comic-Con and, like me, following from home, you’ll want to take to social media. You won’t get live footage, because SDCC doesn’t allow that, but you will get written tweets and there will be some photos now and then shared.

What to expect

There will be moments where there’s a social media blackout. TVLine reports that there will be some exclusive screenings of the series, which could be at least the first episode in full. There will be no phone use allowed during this time.

After the screenings, there will be a Q&A with the cast, which is when the tweeting will commence. Look out for information and teases about the upcoming storyline, the characters, and the development of the series.
