15 best Claire moments throughout Outlander Season 4
2. Consoling Brianna
While Claire figures out that Brianna is pregnant, she never expects to learn that her daughter was raped. Claire has so many emotions running through her at this point. There are the sorrow and anger that something had happened to her daughter, but also the guilt that this happened because Brianna was trying to get to Claire and Jamie.
All Claire wants to do is help. The only thing she can do at that moment is console her daughter. It’s a chance to be a mother, which isn’t something that Claire has been able to be up to this point. There were a few moments here and there in Season 3, but nothing quite as powerful as this.
Everything Claire wants to do is forgotten for now. She can’t judge and she certainly doesn’t offer her own opinions. She just listens and holds her daughter as the truth comes out.
1. The reaction to the stolen rings
While the Outlander Season 4 premiere isn’t a favorite episode of mine, it has my favorite moment of the fourth season for Claire. We get this moment of Bonnet stealing Claire’s rings, getting away with Jamie’s but unable to take Frank’s. This is a change from the book — and one that I understand and like.
Claire has all these emotions running through her at this moment and she just curls up in a ball on the floor. Her nephew has been knocked out, her friend killed in front of her, and the ring that means the world to her taken away. Up to this point, she’d shared how the ring was the only thing she needed from Jamie and now it was gone.
Yet, she has the one from Frank. There’s sort of a bitterness to the thought of this. Even though that ring means plenty to her, it’s nothing compared to the one ring she refused to take off while with Frank.
