7 locations added to Outlander tour ideas for Season 4
Arniston House, Midlothian
Arniston House was used as the front for the theater in Wilmington. It was also used for the lobby, helping to add a little more authenticity to the style of location. However, the actual theater scenes were done in St. Andrew’s Square’s Centre of Scottish Culture.
The property has been in the Dundas Family for more than 400 years and is just 11 miles from Edinburgh. It is open to the public for an admission cost but only on certain days. You’ll want to check out the official Arniston House website for more details.
Dunkeld House Hotel, Perthshire
Overlook the beautiful River Tay at Dunkeld House Hotel, which was used as the wilderness for Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian’s voyage to find Roger. You’ll see the paths traveled, as the three found the body of the sold man and buried him out of respect.
The whole area is free to visit throughout the year. Of course, if you’re planning on staying at the hotel then that’s a different matter! The River Tay is a popular location for salmon fishing and, depending on the time of year you visit, you may see fishers out and about!
