15 best Jamie moments in Outlander Season 4
9. Finding Fraser’s Ridge
The love for the Blue Ridge Mountains was evident in Jamie’s eyes. While it was a cliché moment and I couldn’t stand the green screen that was up, we did get a moment of happiness and love for Jamie. No, it wasn’t the love he bears for Claire or his family, but the love of memories and nature.
It was clear that he wanted to remain here. He wanted this to become Fraser’s Ridge, but he didn’t say anything. In a way, this is a beautiful Claire and Jamie moment because Claire knew exactly what Jamie was thinking and feeling.
8. Giving Hayes the ending he needed
Like when putting a pet to sleep, Jamie was able to be there for someone who was reaching the end of his life. This wasn’t an ending out of choice. It was an execution and Hayes was scared. All he wanted was to see a familiar face smiling at him.
It was always going to be hard for Jamie to give him that, but he’d managed it. Out of everyone, Jamie was going to be the one to do it for his friend and Hayes knew that. Jamie always puts others first in their biggest time of need.
Jamie was able to push his own emotions to one side before Hayes was hanged. It was only after Hayes’ execution that Jamie turned away and sought his own comfort in Claire.
7. Admitting his jealousy to Claire
I know there aren’t many people who like Frank Randall, but I have a lot of sympathy for him. This is especially the case at the start. Frank never asked for anything that happened to play out the way it did. However, when it came to Claire returning, he was there by her side and he took her and Brianna in.
And in a way, that’s something Jamie didn’t like. Frank played a huge part in Claire and Brianna’s life. Bree naturally felt guilty for finding Jamie, leaving everything that was Frank behind. She held the weight of her last words to Frank in her heart and she’d been nervous about going to the past. And because of that, she was struggling with letting Jamie in.
Naturally, Jamie was going to be hurt and jealous of that. We finally got this moment where he admitted it all, helping to bring Claire and Jamie back together.
