What time is Outlander on Netflix?
Outlander Seasons 1 and 2 are heading to Netflix in the United States. What time can you start streaming the show from?
Netflix U.S. is finally getting Outlander. While it may only be the first two seasons, it’s better than nothing for those who have wanted the show on the streaming service for years. But what time can you start streaming the series from?
Netflix tends to drop shows at 3 a.m. ET. If you’re on the West Coast, this is excellent news, because you’ll get it at midnight in your area on May 27. Considering many fans stay up until midnight to watch new episodes of the series on STARZ, I’m sure there will be many staying up until midnight (or 3 a.m. ET) to start streaming the first two seasons again.

There are many questions about why only the first two seasons are being added and what this means for the future of the series. For the former, it’s likely strategic. By putting the first two seasons on Netflix, STARZ knows it will draw in the attention of new fans (I’ll be the first to admit that I started watching Outlander because it was added to Netflix Canada) and they’ll sign up to STARZ to watch the next two seasons – or get the DVDs or buy the digital episodes on Amazon Video.
As for the questions about the future of the series, this is likely a good thing. This will not make the show a Netflix Original, so there’s no need to worry that the streaming service will cancel it after a few years. It remains a STARZ Original and Lionsgate is the company that has the final say over the future of the show.
By the series being on Netflix, it can reach a larger audience. This will likely bring more viewers into the series and add more subscribers to STARZ (the most important aspect of all this to keep the show on the air). The Netflix deal could help to secure more seasons in the future.
