4. Seeing that Jamie is human

Most of the time, he is a better man. However, Outlander Season 2, Episode 5 reminds us that Jamie is human. He has his flaws and his anger and need for revenge is one of those flaws.

This is something we see a lot from Jamie. It’s been consistent throughout the series. Even in Outlander Season 4, we get to see him as human — someone reacting before he thinks.

I don’t agree with Jamie wanting to get revenge. I can understand it but that doesn’t mean I agree with his actions — more the fact that he’s willing to go to jail for life and leave Claire and the baby for revenge. Sure, he doesn’t think he’ll get caught but there’s no guarantee and he doesn’t think that far. But my favorite part is seeing a flaw in what seems to be this perfect man.

3. Black Jack Randall’s return

Black Jack Randall is one of those characters I love to hate. As much as I despise him, he lights up the screen when he’s on. You know there’s going to be drama and danger when he’s in the scene.

However, his return was just right. We had this chance to see him on the backfoot — the one that others were able to put down. He happened to be in the presence of the French king and was immediately made to look like an idiot for his bad accent. Yet, Claire was commended for hers.

Oh, the look on both of their faces when it happened. Of course, it wouldn’t last and you knew he’d find a way to get revenge.
