4. Meeting Jenny and Ian

There’s no way that I could leave this off the list. It’s all one scene despite seeing Jenny and Ian one by one, so it counts as one moment.

Jamie shows up and immediately assumes Young Jamie is Jack Randall’s illegitimate child. It’s not entirely surprising that he thinks that considering what he’s been through and how he last left things, but it’s still pig-headed of him to immediately jump to these accusations. He doesn’t even give Jenny a chance.

However, it was clear that Jenny wasn’t perfect either, calling Claire a trollop without even finding out who she really was. And then we got Ian stepping in to share how Young Jamie and the unborn baby were his. Jamie’s demeanor changed again completely, giving us another side to his character as he saw his best friend once more.

3. Jenny admitting her faults

In a way, this should have been a hint at how Jenny would react in Outlander Season 3. She’s a stubborn woman and certainly knows how to hold a grudge. It takes something big to make her change her mind and that’s something we got to see in this particular episode.

Jenny was angry at Jamie’s return. As much as she was relieved to see him alive and well, she was also angry that he’d been away and everything that had happened to their father. However, she couldn’t come out and say that.

It took seeing the scars on Jamie’s back for Jenny to realize everything that he’d been through. She’d believed Jamie had done something pig-headed but nothing major. However, she soon realized that he’d been through hell and back and it wasn’t his fault. This gave her the chance to open up and admit she was wrong, which took a lot of courage and character.
