12. Roger promises to break free

In the first episode of 2019, we found out where Roger was. On the road with the Mohawks, it was clear that he was at risk of death. And this was the moment we saw his true love for Brianna.

See, he’d crossed the seas to be with her, but it was at this point that he was fully at risk of death. He had no idea where the Mohawks were taking him or whether he’d survive the walk. Yet, he’d marked the days, kept an eye on landmarks in the forest, and tried his best to figure out where he was going. He promised to return to his wife.

11. Jamie and Brianna in the woods

There were two moments in the last Outlander episode of 2018 that stood out for me. One of those was when Jamie took Brianna bee hunting and it did make the list of best moments in 2018. However, (spoiler) that moment doesn’t remain on the list. This one does.

Jamie showed Brianna that the rape wasn’t her fault. He couldn’t get it across with words, so physically showed her that she couldn’t possibly have fought Bonnet off. What would have taken months of talking took minutes of action to understand, and it led to Jamie opening up about Black Jack Randall (although I still don’t like that Claire broke that trust).
