2. Jamie and Brianna in the woods

This is really two moments joined together. Jamie shows Brianna that she could never have beaten Bonnet and Jamie opens up about his rape.

I hate the way the talk about the rape came about. Claire should never have told Brianna, but that isn’t the point here. Jamie moves forward and sees that his daughter needs to talk about this. He puts his own pain and hurtful memories to one side for her.

More importantly, he manages to use his own ways to help Brianna through the terrible ordeal. He’s honest and gentle (except when proving she couldn’t fight Brianna off, of course) and shows that he truly understands. Even if we had no idea about Jamie’s story, we would have known something serious happened.

1. Roger promises to break free

TV Time users loved Roger’s big decision at the end. While I love that he managed to break free, it was the night talking to the other prisoner that I loved the most. This moment brought the promise of getting away.

The only person on his mind at that moment was Brianna. He refused to die in the 18th century without having Brianna by his side. Roger wasn’t going to just give up.

We’ve only seen him as a historian or a crew member of a ship. However, this moment showed him as a survivor. He will fight for what’s his but he uses his brain rather than going out half-cocked.
