5 best moments from Outlander Season 2, Episode 3
Seeing Bouton at work
While at the hospital, we got to see how everyone came together. Executioners and butchers would use their skills to help the sick and weak. But what I loved the most was seeing Bouton at work.
It was hard to understand why he was in the hospital at first. What use was a dog? Well, he quickly showed that his sense of smell would help to find infection. Nobody could find the infection but he very quickly got to work to sniff out where the pus was.
This part also shows that Claire is human. It’s not always easy to find the source of the infection and we got to see her make a mistake. She didn’t complain about making this mistake. Instead, she quickly got to work to help heal the wound.
Murtagh knowing something was wrong
Claire often takes her annoyance out on other people. Many of us are guilty of that and I have no issue with her taking her annoyance out on Murtagh. After all, she’d given Suzette a job and Murtagh was keeping Suzette from that.
But I loved that Murtagh realized there was more to this. As much as I don’t like “The Search,” it’s an important episode for the two characters. This is the episode that brings them closer and Murtagh starts to see Claire more as a person than another woman. He learns more about her.
This moment also shows the trust between Claire and Murtagh. She knows that she can tell him about Black Jack Randall still being alive and Murtagh knows exactly what she can’t do right now. That is, until the end of the episode!
