5 best moments from Outlander Season 2, Episode 2
4. Claire meets Mary Hawkins
Sweet Mary Hawkins. She was such a timid girl when first introduced in the episode, but it was extremely clear that she was going to be an important character. Claire knew that she’d heard of the name before, and it was a clear hint that we would learn more as the storyline moved forward.
It would have been easy to believe anyone capable of marrying Black Jack Randall would be cold and calculating. Meeting Mary in this way certainly brought an element of intrigue and sorrow for the character, especially as soon as we realized who Mary was.
3. Jamie meets with Bonnie Prince Charlie
It took three months, but Jared Fraser was able to come though. He made it possible for Jamie to meet with Bonnie Prince Charlie. Of course, that meeting just happened to be in a French brothel.
This first meeting was perfect. We had the chance to see Jamie play all sides. He could be honest in his feelings about the Scots but make it seem like he wanted the best for the Jacobites at the same time. This was an excellent way to gain the prince’s trust, although it was initially risky.
The episode also started the “Mark me” lines. I know for many they became annoying but they were just right for BPC’s character.
