Brooklyn Nine-Nine thinks Antonio Banderas should be in Outlander!

It’s not often another show will give a shoutout to Outlander. If you watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Apr. 11, you would have heard a special shoutout with a casting suggestion that could most definitely work

How often do you hear other TV shows giving a shoutout to Outlander? It doesn’t happen often, especially not within the actual scripts. However, those who were watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Apr. 11 would have been happy to hear the shoutout that involved a casting suggestion.

It was a single line, as an older later held a bomb and spoke about how the guy who gave her it looked like Antonio Banderas. Before continuing with the story, the woman mentioned that Banderas should be in Outlander.

And yes, I laughed and got excited. After all, it was a mention of one of my favorite shows on TV right now. I always love when there’s a shoutout and it suggests that there are people in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine writers room who watch the show or read the books.

But then I started thinking that actually, if there was a character for him, casing Banderas would work. I know a lot of people right now would think of him as the voice of Puss in Shrek and he does a lot of comedy now, but the first movie I remember watching him in was Interview with a Vampire.

He was sexy and suave. This was a man who embodied the character and it was hard to see him as just an actor. With that role in mind, I think he suits the period drama perfectly. I’ll admit that I haven’t read past “The Fiery Cross” yet (I’m reading that right now). I don’t know if there is a character for him but I would love to see him in the role if there is one.
