Outlander takes home five CineAwards in 2019
The CineAwards 2019 are all fan-voted and Sassenachs came out in style. Outlander took home five well-deserved wins.
While we may be in Droughtlander, Sassenachs hasn’t stopped supporting the show. We came out in force for the CineAwards 2019, helping Outlander take home five wins out of the lot, and many of them in the big categories.
Let’s get the three biggest ones out of the way first. Not only did the show take home the Best Drama Series win, but Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan also won Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Drama Series and Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Drama Series. And yes, we know that all three were well deserved.

However, we can’t overlook the other two, slightly smaller (I know, it’s all a team effort so “smaller” is subjective) awards. Maria Doyle Kennedy took home the Best Guest Star in a Drama Series for her role of Aunt Jocasta. That’s an amazing feat, and it’s certainly well deserved.
Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin didn’t miss out either. The fifth win was for Best Episode in a Drama Series. Episode 7, titled “Down the Rabbit Hole,” took that win — it was only based on the Season 4 episodes. While I don’t necessarily agree with that being the best episode of Season 4 (“Providence” was my favorite) it is certainly a good sign for Brianna and Roger moving forward.
