We’re into Droughtlander. Which of the five stages are you at right now? W Network has put together an Outlander clip to help you figure it out.
Just like grief, Droughtlander has five stages. You’ll eventually get through each one with help from other Sassenaches, rewatching/rereading, and finding something else to do. W Network has expertly put together an Outlander video to help you figure out which stage of Droughtlander you’re at now.
It all starts with denial. A lot of the clips used are from the first season, bringing back memories of the witch trials, the lead up to Claire marrying Jamie, and the argument after saving Claire from BJR the second time. There are a few clips from Season 4 involving Brianna and Roger.

The second stage is sadness. This time, there’s a good mixture of moments from the various seasons, with a special mention of Season 4. Jamie and Young Ian say goodbye, noting the proud sadness from Jamie. And we can’t forget the mention of Brianna and Jamie as the two finally meet.
Bargaining is the third stage. This time it’s mostly the first two seasons. In fact, there’s plenty from the second season, including Claire’s bargain with King Louis to get Jamie out of the Bastille.
Anger comes next and naturally, there’s one scene from Season 4 that is played during this moment. Yes, it’s all about Brianna learning that Jamie and Young Ian had sold Roger to the Mohawks. We also get quite a few slaps that have happened over the years, including Claire slapping Laoghaire and Jenny slapping Jamie.
Finally, we get to acceptance — although I have to ask whether any of us truly get to the acceptance of Droughtlander. These clips mostly come from Season 4 and we get the ending of Young Ian’s smile as he’s adopted into the Mohawk tribe. How great was that moment?
