Caitriona Balfe was at the 91st Academy Awards and extremely proud that Olivia Colman took home the Best Actress win. She has now admitted her unapologetic bias.

The 91st Academy Awards have been and gone. There were certainly some surprise wins (and some of them good, some of them bad). Olivia Colman took home the Best Actress for The Favourite and Outlander‘s Caitriona Balfe has shared her admitted bias.

Balfe very quickly took to Twitter to congratulate Colman for her win. As much as she loves Glenn Close, she admits that she’s biased for the British actress, soon to star on The Crown Seasons 3 and 4. And that’s where some of the bias may come from. They both share a TV husband now.

More from Caitriona Balfe

As many will know, Tobias Menzies played Frank Randall on Outlander. The prolific actor is now moving over to a different period drama, this time taking on the role of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in The Crown. The third season will reportedly take place between 1964 and 1970. The time period won’t be too out of Menzies’ wheelhouse, as he did play Frank up to 1968 in Outlander Season 3.

It sounds like Balfe is excited to see the third season of the royal family series. That’s not all that surprising, as the two stars were clearly close during their time on set. They’ve routinely shown support for each other on social media and during conventions when they’ve both attended.

However, Caitriona Balfe also clearly loved The Favourite. She shared how funny the movie was and how entertaining it was. Set in the 1700s, the movie is a comedic take on the life of Queen Anne. It’s certainly not for those who need historical accuracy every step of the way, but it’s a fun look at a time period often forgotten.
