If you’re looking for ways to get through Droughtlander, Diana Gabaldon has a suggestion. Another entry on her Methadone List, Tales for Gullible Children is something to read.

Now that Outlander is over for another season and there’s still a bit to go before Book 9 is released, many fans are struggling with Droughtlander. Diana Gabaldon understands and she’s put together, what she calls, her Methadone List. “Tales for Gullible Children” is the latest book added to the list.

The Methadone List is a selection of books that Gabaldon recommends. She doesn’t gain anything from you reading. These books are just those that she enjoys and thinks you might too. There’s something for everyone on this list.

As you know, Outlander is a mixture of genres. It’s got the romance (in the first novel) and a love story (the subsequent novels). There’s time travel, history, adventure, and much more. So, trying to pick just one genre for book selections is going to be impossible. Gabaldon’s interests are so wide so there’s going to be something.

“Tales for Gullible Children” by Laura Watkins was released in 2018. On the front of it, the novel (which is actually a selection of stories) may sound like something for the younger age group but there is something that will interest all. There are stories that everyone will find entertaining and fun.

Gabaldon describes the stories as if The Brothers Grimm wrote their fairy tales while on Red Bull and eating Cheetos. Oh, and they were also partaking in a few adult substances. If you thought the Brothers Grimm’s tales were dark and odd (and that’s why you enjoyed them), then you’ll certainly want to give this selection of tales a read.
