Shetland Season 5: Douglas Henshall is back in action

Looking to get an Outlander fix during Droughtlander? You might want to turn to shows that former guest stars are in. Douglas Henshall is in Shetland Season 5, which has just begun.

With Droughtlander in full swing, we’re looking for ways to make it through the break. How about with shows that Outlander guest stars are in? One of those is Shetland, with Douglas Henshall, and Season 5 has just begun.

Henshall was in four episodes of Claire and Jamie’s dramatic love story in the very first season. He played Taran MacQuarrie, a member of The Watch and a pain in the backside at Lallybroch. With Jamie being a wanted man, he needed to hide out in his own home but it was soon clear that he was around.

Taran never did turn Jamie over. Instead, the two were captured by the Redcoats and taken to Wentworth Prison, where Taran wasn’t lucky enough to make it out alive.

However, Henshall could never have been in the series for too long. He was already working on Shetland and the BBC One drama is now onto its fifth season. That drama started back yesterday but it’s going to take a while for it to come to Netflix like the previous seasons. It’s certainly going to be something to look out for.

As DI Jimmy Perez, Henshall leads the cast as the main detective on each of the cases. Jimmy Perez is joined by DS Alison McIntosh (Alison O’Donnell), DC Sandy Wilson (Steven Robertson), and Rhona Kelly (Julie Graham). Outlander‘s Stephen Walters had been in the fourth season of the series and Finn Den Hertog was in the first season.

Shetland Season 5 has certainly seen an uneven start and there have been complaints of gruesome images. You may want to avoid having food while eating if you do have a weaker stomach.
