3. The new ring

When it happened: Season 4, Episode 6

Why it happened: In the Outlander Season 4 premiere, Claire’s ring from Jamie had been stolen. It took a few episodes, but Jamie had found a way to get her a new ring made. After she’d helped Lord John Grey recover from the measles, Jamie drew Claire a bath and gave her the new ring.

Why it was so romantic: Let’s be honest, this was a moment many of us had been waiting quite some time for. The second ring had come much sooner in the books, but it was certainly worth waiting for in Outlander Season 4. It brought one of the most romantic moments throughout the whole series, and one that will be hard to knock out of this spot.

Earlier in this episode, Claire had mentioned that she was waiting for Jamie’s full attention when their guests had left. It was clear that she was craving some alone time with him and the bath was the perfect start to that, especially as she’d needed to help someone she had few good feelings for had the measles.

But the ring had also continued a conversation the two previously had. It was all about the lack of gifts and things Jamie had been able to give his wife. He felt guilty for not being the husband he wanted to be.

Then to top off this moment, the ring was made from Ellen’s silver candlestick, continuing this connection to important items from his childhood. Who would be the one to make it? Murtagh of course!
