4. Jamie organizing the wedding

When it happened: Season 1, Episode 7

Why it happened: Jamie wanted his wedding to be perfect. This wasn’t about what he wanted but about making it perfect for Claire. From the dress, to the church, to the ring, everything needed to be just right and he was willing to do everything he could to arrange it.

Why it was so romantic: There’s no denying that Jamie is the more romantic out of the couple. And there’s nothing wrong with that – that’s the case in my marriage too. Sometimes one is going to be more romantic than the other. And in this moment, it worked out for the wedding.

While Claire drank to gain courage, Jamie went on a mission to make his wedding day perfect. He didn’t care about it for himself. This was all about making it just right for this woman that he had immediately fallen in love with when they first met. It was a sign of the romantic gestures to come.

Jamie knew that he would never be able to offer Claire everything. He was a wanted man with no home to return to at that time. All he could do was offer a ring made out of a key that was a direct connection to his home. It was personal and beautiful, showing us everything Jamie would offer.
