1. The Wedding

Finally, there is only one episode I could put in the number one slot. Outlander Season 1, Episode 7 is the most romantic episode and best-written episode ever. It has everything you need, including humor, intensity, and passion.

I don’t think this episode needs much of a breakdown, but I’ll give you it anyway. You know, just in case you’ve had a little too much whiskey to forget about it.

After her encounter with Black Jack Randall, Claire is forced with either what will be imprisonment at Fort William or marrying a Scot. She opts to enter into a marriage, despite knowing deep down that she’s married to a man who hasn’t even been born yet. It’s a tricky one, right? Well, not so tricky when you remember that Jamie Fraser is the Scot she marries.

Jamie is an excellent choice, too. He wants to make sure the wedding is perfect for his bride, despite the circumstances, even getting the key to Lallybroch fashioned into a ring for her — one that remains important all the way into the fourth season.

Of course, with all the build up to this part, the majority of Sassenachs adore the after-wedding events. This is the steamiest of all episodes.
