1. Admitting his jealousy

At the very end of the episode, there’s a chance for Claire and Jamie to talk. Claire finally decides it’s time to share she’s not angry with Jamie. She’s angry at the world and, especially, at Stephen Bonnet. In Outlander Season 4, Episode 11, Jamie also finally openly admits something: he’s jealous of a dead man.

We get to see how ridiculous he feels about the situation. Frank is gone. He’s not coming back and he’s not in the future for Claire and Brianna to go back to. In a way, he’s won, but at the same time, he hasn’t.

Brianna said some hurtful things. Jamie did the same. Both are just like each other. They’re stubborn and say things in anger that they don’t mean.

Jamie hasn’t had the chance to realize that yet. He fears that Brianna doesn’t need him after everything that’s happened.

It’s not often that Jamie shows some sort of weakness. He doesn’t always talk about his feelings. Those who think Claire and Jamie have lost their connection may have missed the fact that in this episode, Jamie opened up in a way he hasn’t in a long time to her. And it was perfect.
