4. Seeing the view from Fraser’s Ridge

Many of the top moments are definitely from the start of the episode. Outlander Season 4, Episode 9 delivered this moment of Claire, Jamie, and Brianna looking over the view. Brianna got to see why her parents had chosen here to live.

What I love the most about this moment is how Brianna shows just how much she’s like Claire. While she looks like Jamie and has picked up interests from Frank, she shares what’s to come in the future. She looks over the ridge fondly, sharing what’s to come and what it means.

Then she stops herself realizing that Jamie knows none of this. He could find it overwhelming and she doesn’t really know how to react. But Jamie has this proud smile and Claire steps in to make Brianna feel comfortable about rattling off the future events. it’s a beautiful core family moment.

3. Family bonding around the table

After reuniting with her mother and meeting the rest of her family, Brianna has the chance to hear about stories. I get the feeling that this isn’t normal for Brianna. Up to this point, she’d had Claire and Frank, so stories around the table wouldn’t have been a big thing. This was a beautiful chance to learn and see more.

She sees why Claire had to return to Jamie and how much she has gained from Jamie. This is a chance for her to get to know her family better, while they learn a little about them.

It’s a beautiful and simple moment from the series. Much of this is was just life, but it was a necessary part of the story.
