Outlander is going strong in its fourth season as a hit television series. Here are the 25 most gut-wrenching moments in Outlander, so far.

If you have been a fan of Outlander for any amount of time, you’ll understand that the show has many heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, ugly cry type moments — and that’s part of the reason we keep coming back.

Through these moments we connect with the characters, we can feel their pain, their strength and most of all — their resilience. We cry along with Claire when she has to leave Jaime behind, we feel the torture that Jamie suffers at the hands of “Black” Jack Randall and we can feel the loss when Frank learns the news that his wife is missing.

Of course, the show isn’t all heartbreak, it balances the sad times with times of pure joy, like then Claire and Jamie begin to fall in love when Claire saves a life and of course when they are eventually reunited after nearly 20 long years apart.
