Outlander Season 4, Episode 3 brought Brianna and Roger’s story into focus. It was certainly a journey for Brianna and here are her top three moments.

It’s #WomanCrushWednesday and because Outlander Season 4, Episode 3 evenly split the story between The Frasers and MacBree, we get a chance to focus on Brianna Randall Fraser. Just what were her top three moments.

Brianna certainly had a journey during the episode: both physically and emotionally. It looks like there’s little hope for her and Roger moving forward. Instead of focusing on what’s the come right now, though, it’s important to look at what’s past. Here are her top three moments from “The False Bride.”

3. Knowing what she wants

More from Top Moments

During the episode, Brianna makes it clear what she wants from Roger. It’s definitely not what Roger wants, but that doesn’t mean Brianna is in the wrong. To be honest, neither of them were in the wrong, knowing their own mind and wishes.

As Roger shared his anger and disappointment at Brianna turning him down, she gave him as good as she got. She stood up for her wishes, pulled him up on his hypocrisy, and made her intentions clear.

Brianna is a stubborn Fraser, but in this moment, she’s also a woman who knows her own mind. She is her mother’s daughter and she’s not going to just follow expectations. This could certainly get her in trouble in the future (well, the past) but for the 1970s, it’s perfect.

2. The car journey

There’s a beautiful moment during the car journey. Brianna looks at Roger and tells him she’s pretty, before wiping the ketchup from his face.

This is just such a cute and innocent moment. There’s a connection between them that in emphasized at this point. Brianna feels something deeply, seeing Roger in a light that she’s possibly never seen him in before.

If she has seen him as “pretty” before, she’s never had the guts to tell him. It’s in this moment that she starts to come into her own. This moment sets up the confrontation the two will have later in the episode.

There are other cute moments that follow. That look Roger gives her when she calls him her boyfriend and the fun while dancing. All of those moments build up from this one, which is what makes this one so special.

Outlander Season 3 didn’t really give us a chance to build on their relationship. This is the first time we’ve really had that chance to see the connection and chemistry between them and it’s definitely there within this moment.

1. Watching Roger perform

While at the festival, Brianna is just enjoying life. She has Roger by her side and she’s enjoying everything about the event, even dressed in something that would otherwise be completely unfashionable at the time.

However, it’s all about the moment Roger sings. Brianna has the portrait for the two of them in her bag, the only photo they have of each other. As Roger sings the beautiful song, “The False Bride,” Brianna looks at him in wonder and awe and glances down at the portrait.

It’s clear that she has some mixed emotions right now. She wants to take the relationship with Roger a step further, but at the same time, she’s not sure what she wants out of life. Does she really want to marry after hearing what happened to Claire? There’s always that fear of “what if.”

Yet, it’s in the moment that she knows she feels something for Roger. You can tell she’s falling for him, but there’s something holding her back, allowing for some foreshadowing for the things to come at the end of the episode.
