Outlander missed out on a People’s Choice Awards 2018 win, but it’s not all doom and gloom. Sam Heughan took a win thanks to his movie.

The People’s Choice Awards 2018 aired last night and we finally got to see who won the awards. Unfortunately, after getting voted into the award nominations, Outlander didn’t manage to take a win. That doesn’t mean it’s all doom and gloom.

Thanks to his movie, Sam Heughan was able to take a win. The Spy Who Dumped Me, which was released in the summer, took the win for Comedy Movie of 2018. While he’s not the star of the movie, he does play an important role and we’ll take a win where was can, right Sassenachs?

More from Outlander Fandom

As for the Bingeworthy Show of 2018Outlander missed out to a fandom that I suspected would take the win. Shadowhunters fans went all out. After getting nominated for five awards (four of those were write-ins, by the way), the show walked away with four of the awards. Unfortunately, one of those was at the expense of Claire and Jamie.

It’s a shame, but this is all about the fandoms and a chance to be loud and proud. While Sassenachs have beaten other fandoms on many occasions, this time the Shadowfam was out there in force. This isn’t surprising considering Shadowhunters was canceled earlier this year and the fandom is fighting hard to #SaveShadowhunters.

There are more chances for awards for Claire and Jamie in the future. The Golden Globes will be the ones we look forward to next time. The nominations will be announced in December, with the awards show taking place in January. All eyes will be on where Sassenachs stand.
