It’s #ManCrushMonday and that means the perfect time to look back at Jamie’s best moments from the Outlander Season 4 premiere. Here are my top five.

Now that Droughtlander is over, I can get back into some sort of rhythm with posts and set a real schedule. When each new episode airs, I’ll do Jamie and Claire’s best moments separately and a best moments piece for the whole series. Last night, it was all about Outlander Season 4, Episode 1.

Since Mondays are #ManCrushMonday, I’ll do the best Jamie moments today. The best Claire moments will be posted on #WomanCrushWednesday and Fridays will be the day to look back at the best moments overall. In the middle of all that, look out for the moments I didn’t quite like and a few theory/opinion pieces, including best lines and single character features.

With that in mind, let’s just right into Jamie’s best moments in the Outlander Season 4 premiere. See if you agree with me.

5. Offer Hayes the chance to escape

At the very beginning of the episode, Jamie bribed a guard to let him in to talk to Hayes. The intention was to give him the details of the plan to help him escape. It didn’t all work out, but we got that honorable, loyal Jamie Fraser in the opening moments of the episode.

He was willing to risk his own life for the sake of his friends. Hayes was in the Colonies because of Jamie. He and Lesley had joined the Frasers on the journey to save Young Ian. Jamie would feel responsibility for Hayes’ predicament and death sentence, even though Hayes does point out that he made a mistake and should have listened to Jamie’s warnings.

Seeing that loyalty is important. Jamie will always try to do the best for his friends. And this moment leads me to the next.
