6. Claire confessing about the ether

When it happened: Season 6, Episode 7

Any tension between Claire and Jamie? There has been a lot of tension between Claire and Jamie, but not because the two don’t trust each other or love each other. Claire has just struggled to speak out about her trauma and PTSD after the attack at the end of Outlander Season 5.

Why it’s the best: The two finally find some sort of peace between them. There had been a disconnect throughout the sixth season, which is understandable after the attack on Claire. All the other drama and scandal that arrived on the Ridge threatened to tear them further apart.

However, this moment brought them together. Claire found the courage to tell Jamie everything she was thinking and feeling. She didn’t just confess to using ether to cope, but she also explained the full reason why. It was all about Claire feeling guilty for so much bad that had happened.

Jamie could have focused on the ether. Instead, he shared all the good that Claire’s “selfishness” brought the entire family. Yes, there’s bad, but there’s also some amazing things. And then he ended it with making it clear that he will always be there for Claire and never think less of her. That we can fully believe.
