Any tension between Claire and Jamie? Claire was tense and apprehensive, but it wasn’t between her and Jamie. She was tense at the situation.

Why it’s the best: We have to go back to the beginning, to the scene that started it all. The moment Jamie got a good look at Claire in the cabin sent shivers down our spine. Looking back knowing what we know now, it’s easy to see that he immediately fell in love with this Sassenach.

Claire may have been almost raped and knocked out to “save” her, but she was still very much focused on caring for a wounded man. She was a nurse after all and wouldn’t let someone suffer just for the sake of her pride or her anger towards others. Or maybe to was her pride as a nurse that fueled her need to help Jamie despite her feelings towards these men.

As Rupert almost broke Jamie’s arm, Claire stepped in and moved everyone away. They shared a look that made it clear something was going to happen between them. All we needed was time. And it didn’t take too long, did it?
