Sam Heughan on Live with Kelly and Ryan: If he could time travel, where would he go?

We all know Jamie Fraser can’t time travel, but what about Sam Heughan? The Outlander star was on Live with Kelly and Ryan to promote Outlander Season 4 and the discussion of where he’d go if he could came up.

It’s common knowledge that Jamie Fraser does not have the ability to time travel. Caitriona Balfe confirmed that when she was on This Morning last year and now Sam Heughan has confirmed it once more on Live with Kelly and Ryan–pointing out, gracefully, that the fans know he can’t.

This wasn’t the first time Heughan has been on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Last time, Jenna Dewan (who is a huge Outlander fan) stood in for Kelly.

Of course, time travel in real life came up. Heughan would certainly choose a DeLorean to do his time traveling if he could and shared that he would most definitely go forward in time. He’s more interested in looking at the future than looking back, which is perfect for his role as Jamie. After all, if Jamie could time travel, it would be forward to be with Claire and Brianna, although he’s certainly admitted that the future is not his time.

Also during the interview, Sam talked about James Bond and his future on Outlander. Of course, the latter was the moment everyone held their breath. With a growing film career, will Sam Heughan give up the role of Jamie anytime soon? Well, it certainly doesn’t sound like it, although he did only mention the two more seasons they have to film–and shared filming starts on Outlander Season 5 next year.

The good news is that it doesn’t look Sam is going anywhere. Fans don’t need to be worried about his growing film career, because he loves being part of the Outlander family. And I loved that he called us a family.
