What it’s about: Nadia thinks it’s just a normal 37th birthday party. However, after going home with a guy, getting on with some work, and going in search for her cat, she is hit by a car and dies. That starts a loop, as she wakes back up in the bathroom at the party on her 37th birthday party.

Nadia needs to figure out how to stay alive. But if only it was as simple as that. It’s soon clear that she’s not alone in this time loop, and if she wants any hope of getting out of the time loop and to stop dying, she needs to figure out the mistakes she’s made in the past.

Why watch it: While there are some comedic moments for the relief during the heavier topics, this is more of a drama. It’s one of the most beautifully written shows, bringing us real and flawed characters that you’re not going to initially like. However, you want to see them grow as people, as they learn what their actions are doing to others.

It’s a show with great character development, strong and independent women, and messages of morals for the audience. Russian Doll may only be eight episodes, but it’s a show you’ll want to rewatch because there will be elements you miss the first time.
