11. The Sandman

Number of seasons: 1 (so far)

Who it stars: Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, and Patton Oswalt make up the main cast. David Thewlis, Jenna Coleman, Gwendoline Christie, and many other amazing stars also appear in numerous episodes.

What it’s about: Morpheus, also know as Dream, is kidnapped from his realm for a century. When he returns, he finds the World of Dreams in shambles, and he needs to repair everything. That takes him on a journey to collect all the items he needs to gain his abilities back.

There are multiple other storylines along the way that end up connecting with Dream’s journey. Will they eventually help him restore the world and take down the Nightmare that has escaped?

Why watch it: This is one of those stories when you want epic story development. It takes time to watch it, very much like American Gods on STARZ. It’s a beautifully created world, with wonderful acting to boot.

While there are only 10 episodes right now—with hopefully more to follow—you’ll feel like you’re watching many more. In fact, you’ll want to rewatch this series as there will be details you’ll miss the first time, very much like The Witcher. Put the phone down and enjoy.
