What it’s about: Stateless is an Australian miniseries based loosely on a true story. It follows four strangers inside an Australian detention camp, with one of them being an Australian air hostess who is escaping a cult.

There are certainly some traumatic moments throughout the series. It doesn’t shy away from the horrors of detention camps, but that’s the point. It’s time to bring change.

Why watch it: Stateless offers an excellently written series that brings some horrifying truths. One of the things that has drawn fans to Outlander is the connection to real history. There’s the Jacobite rebellion, the Regulators, and the upcoming Revolutionary War. Stateless offers a look at stories from inside detention camps.

We also get human connections. The four people may be strangers at first, but there are things that will draw them together.

And we can’t forget the family story. Sofie’s sister is hellbent on figuring out where Sofie is, and she knows the cult has something to do with it.
