Outlander Season 1, Episode 6 brought Black Jack Randall back for an episode. It also gave Claire a chance to meet with English soldiers. Here are my top thoughts while rewatching The Garrison Commander.

The Garrison Commander” is one of those episodes that has me chuckling for the wrong reasons. For much of Outlander Season 1, Episode 6, the English look down on the Scots and make fun of the Scottish accent. While much of it is embarrassing and awkward, there are gems, such as when Dougal tells Brigadier General Thomas that he should go back to London.

That being said, there are some excellent moments throughout that don’t make fun of the Highlanders and their ways. Claire has a chance to feel more at ease. At least, she does for a short period of time. We can’t forget the feeling when Black Jack Randall returns.

While rewatching, there are moments I notice that I didn’t the first. There are elements that stand out more now that I know how the story will go in the future. Then there are other elements that tell me more about Dougal, Claire, and others in the story. So, with that in mind, here are my top thoughts while rewatching Outlander Season 1, Episode 6.
