Outlander Season 1, Episode 2 really pulled us into the 18th century. Here are the best moments from Castle Leoch after rewatching again.

Outlander Season 1, Episode 2 was the first episode fully set in the 18th century. Okay, there were flashbacks and thoughts to the 20th century, but Claire was physically in Jamie’s time period the whole time. It was a powerful episode that made the production for the future clear.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the whole season. In fact, I think it is one of my favorites of the whole series so far. There are some excellent introductions, giving you a full sense of the time period, the understandable suspicions against Claire, and what it was like to be laird without really delving into that.

While the flashbacks did get a little too much for me (although I would have liked the flashbacks without the same scenes being in the episode just before this), they were powerful to remind us of what Claire was thinking. We got to see her memories as they would happen, bringing out more from the books.

With all that in mind, it’s time to break down the top moments from the episode. Here are the five moments that stand out from “Castle Leoch” for me for good reasons.
