Outlander Season 4: Meet our Morag Gunn MacKenzie (well, maybe!)

It looks like we finally have a face to put to the name Morag Gunn MacKenzie for Outlander Season 4. While no official announcement has been made, Elysia Welch has been given that character name on IMDb.

One thing that has been scarce for Outlander Season 4 is casting announcements. We’ve had the odd one dotted throughout the year, but there are still many haracters left to put a face to. One of those is Morag Gunn MacKenzie.

Just as a word of warning, there is some spoilery material at the bottom of this piece. I’ll go into a little detail about who Morag is but I’ll try not to spoil it for anyone who has chosen not to read the books yet.

Now it looks like we can finally get an idea of looks. I will state that this isn’t officially from Starz yet, but it is promising. IMDb has Elysia Welch listed as the extremely important character. Most importantly, she’ll be in two episodes: 7 and 8.

The two episodes will likely air either side of the Christmas break if the Outlander Season 4 premiere date is right. We’re still waiting for official confirmation from Starz about this, although TV Guide suggests that Nov. 4 is the official date. No pressure, Starz!

IMDb does list both episodes as airing in 2018, though, which is impossible to confirm without a premiere date. Also, Starz hasn’t given out any episode dates yet!

Back onto this Outlander Season 4 casting. This may not be right just yet. IMDb isn’t always correct. I remember an actress in Supernatural being listed as an obviously wrong character before Season 13 until someone spotted it and changed it. However, that doesn’t mean for definite that this listing is wrong.

For those who haven’t read the books, this is where we’re entering spoilery material from “Drums of Autumn.”

Morag and Roger meet on the ship heading for the Colonies in the 18th century. The surname is more than this just being someone else from Clan MacKenzie. This is one of Roger’s ancestors. There’s a huge storyline on the boat that helps to set up Roger’s storyline after he gets to the Colonies, so there’s hope now that all this will be included.
