2. Harvard is mentioned

One of the characters routinely mentions that she went to Harvard, which drives Sebastian mad. That’s understandable. What is it with Ivy Leaguers constantly pointing out that they went to an Ivy League college, often in situations where it really doesn’t matter? Growing up in Britain, it was all about Oxbridge!

Anyway, the connection isn’t about annoying Jamie with the fact, but the college on the resume. This is where Outlander the show gets history slightly wrong. Brianna went to the women’s college connected to Harvard. It wasn’t until the 70s that women could actually apply for Harvard. but the school is on Brianna’s resume, not that it would mean much to Jamie.

1. Sebastian taps his fingers

This is one of those Outlander nougats that may have been intentional or it may be a bit of Sam Heughan coming through. We’ve seen Jamie tap his fingers a lot when he’s thinking and it’s mentioned a lot in the books. Well, it turns out it’s a trait Sebastian has too.

Honestly, this is something I know a lot of people do (including myself) so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a Sam trait. It could just be coincidental that it’s a Jamie and Sebastian trait. I’d like to think it was a nod to Outlander fans though.
