The new Mary, Queen of Scots movie dropped its first trailer last week. While there may be inaccuracies, it’s going to be a movie for Outlander fans.

There’s no getting away from the inaccuracies of the new upcoming Mary, Queen of Scots movie. I’ve already shared what they are from the promo alone, but why one may not be that bad–as long as you know it’s fictional. Now it’s time to look past the inaccuracies though. This is a movie for Outlander fans.

Whether you know about Mary, Queen of Scots or not, this is going to be a movie to watch at the end of the year. Falling in the middle of Outlander‘s fourth season airing–and likely around when a Christmas break will be taken–it will give fans something to bide their time. Here’s a look at five reasons it’s perfect for you.

5. It’s Scottish history

One of the things many Outlander fans have fallen in love with is Scotland and its history. Mary, Queen of Scots is going to be packed with Scottish history. After all, it’s about the last Stewart monarch and the woman who birthed the dynasty that would join two kingdoms.

Mary, Queen of Scots has an important part in the Jacobite reign, too! She was the grandmother of King James II of England/VII of Scotland. That makes her the great-grandmother of the Jacobite James Francis Edward Stuart and great-great-grandmother to Bonnie Prince Charlie.

She was also just as controversial as her descendants, fighting for the kingdom of England against her cousin Elizabeth I of England.
