Celebrating the Outlander dads for Father’s Day
Fergus Claudel Fraser
It’s time for a spotlight on Fergus. By the end of “Voyager,” Marsali finds out she’s pregnant and the two remain in Jamaica when Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian head back to Scotland (and find themselves in the Colonies). This hasn’t happened in the series, but it’s likely that Marsali will find out she’s pregnant here, even though she said she doesn’t want to be yet.
Fergus and Marsali have a number of children in the novels, but they’re not all born without issues. One is disabled and it leads to depression and heartache for poor Fergus. Seeing this storyline play out is going to be bittersweet, but Cesar Domboy will surely act the chops off to bring it all to life for us.
Lord John Grey
We can’t forget Lord John Grey, can we? When Jamie had to move on from Helwater to protect Willie, he turned to Lord John Grey for support. He needed to know Willie would be cared for, and of course Lord John Grey accepted the responsibility. The question didn’t even need to be asked.
Throughout the years, Lord John Grey raised the boy as his own, although Willie knew that his parents had died. It wouldn’t be until he’d learn the truth about his biological father that the relationship soured. Despite this, John deserves celebrating as someone who took on a child when he could have just said no considering the time!
