Sam Heughan mentioned where the cast and crew are with the Outlander Season 4 finale during an interview with ITV’s This Morning. It was certainly a blink-and-you-miss-it moment.
Outlander is finally getting the recognition it deserves in the UK. Months after Caitriona Balfe appeared on ITV’s This Morning, Sam Heughan has now had his chance to talk to superfan and show co-host Holly Willoughby. During the interview, he quickly mentioned where the cast and crew are with Outlander Season 4 finale. It was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, along with when filming will end.
Heughan mentioned that they’re starting to film the season finale next week when he returns back to set. That’s right! They are now onto the season finale, which means it won’t be long for the editing process to take place. Heughan also shared that the filming will be done in June, which is exactly what we here at Claire and Jamie suspected based on the convention schedule. It’s good to hear that everything is on track.

As we previously shared, Heughan and Balfe will get an extended break from shooting more Outlander after this. They’re taking a seven-month break from filming, which means they’ll be back on set around January 2019.
Don’t worry about Outlander Season 5. It looks like Starz planned ahead for this to avoid too much of a long Droughtlander. The Season 4 premiere isn’t until November 2018, so with the seven-month break, about nine months of filming, and then editing, it looks like a fifth season will drop around January 2020. That’s the same Droughtlander break as the one between Seasons 3 and 4 if the fourth season airing is similar to Season 3.
You can check out the full interview from Heughan below. The mention of Outlander Season 4 filming onto the season finale is around 2-minutes, 30-seconds.
