#MCM: 5 best Jamie moments in Outlander Season 2
#4. Meeting the king
Jamie meeting King Louis for the first time was hilarious. He wasn’t afraid to state his mind, while he watched the king attempt to do his business on the toilet. As Murtagh pointed out, only a king would need an audience to do such a thing.
While the king initially took offense at the idea of porridge, he did take the advice on board. It was also clear that he considered it even when he was on his privy.
This was a risky moment. Offending the king could have been dangerous, but he took on that risk with some humor.
#3. Taking on Dougal
When back in Scotland, Jamie starts to lead his men and turn the farmers into an army. That leads to him facing off against Dougal on more than one occasion. While many may have cheered at Jamie winning the final fight with Dougal in Outlander Season 2, it’s one of the earlier arguments that made me smile.
As Dougal pushed for training the soldiers in guerrilla warfare, Jamie knew that wasn’t the way to go. He knew that there was something positive and strong about the British way of fighting; in ranks and with discipline. Soldiers who learned to fight the British way were more likely to listen to and follow commands.
This moment also gives us development for Jamie. He’d previously shown he wasn’t afraid to go up against his uncle if necessary and this was his moment to continue that growth and foreshadow the final fight that would take place.
