Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe share their Droughtlander tips
We’re all going through Droughtlander, but the Outlander cast members share their tips to make it through unscathed.
We’re deep into Droughtlander now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel (unlike last time!). That doesn’t mean it’s easy, of course. We’re still looking for ways to use up our time until Outlander Season 4. Well, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan have four tips to help you get through it unscathed.
During an interview with TV Guide, the Outlander stars shared that you could:
- Rewatch the series
- Read the books
- And drink
The third option does come from Heughan, who advises switching from bourbon since the series is moving to the Colonies for this season. That is the drink of choice, apparently. Of course, here at Claire and Jamie, we recommend that you drink responsibly!

- Caitriona Balfe invited to join Oscars voting membership
- Watch your words when it comes to Claire and the ether on Outlander

Those first two tips are things that many fans are already doing. If you’re like me and staying a book behind the series, then at least you have three books to reread. I’ll be looking back through “Voyager” just before Outlander Season 4 and doing a full rewatch.
The fourth of the Droughtlander tips
There’s a tip missing, right? Well, the fourth is actually Balfe’s first of the Droughtlander tips. She recommends not forgetting about your real life and that means don’t forget to feed your kids (I knew there was something I was forgetting to do…*joke for those who don’t read sarcasm through the typed words*).
Getting on with your daily chores will help you take your mind off the fact that there’s no Claire and Jamie at the moment. Well, it’s meant to.
One of my Droughtlander tips recently is to listen to the soundtrack by Bear McCreary. You can get them on Spotify or buy the albums online. The companions are also a good way to make it through the next few weeks.
Oh, and don’t forget these seven shows that will give you something different to watch but will still help you get through Droughtlander.
