#2. Learning Murtagh’s fate

Quite honestly, this has to be one of the best changes from the books. Murtagh became such an important character in the series and there were many worries that he would die at Culloden. When fans didn’t get the moment of Murtagh dying in Jamie’s arms on the battlefield, there was hope that Murtagh would live.

Learning that Murtagh was at Ardsmuir was perfect. Well, it wasn’t great since he became a prisoner, but it was believable and positive. There was the fear the writers would give him back to us just to take him away, but in the end he was saved again. Now he’s somewhere in the Colonies and there’s hope he’ll show up again.

#1. Fergus and Marsali’s wedding

Yes, that moment at the end of “Uncharted” just has to be number one. The Fersali wedding was the perfect way for everyone to celebrate, but also gave us that moment that officially made Fergus a Fraser. Fans already viewed him as Claire and Jamie’s son, but this was the moment that it was made official in Outlander.

The whole moment was beautifully created. Not only did Jamie confirm Fergus was a Fraser, but there were looks of shock and happiness from Fergus and Marsali. Deep down they’d both hoped it (especially Fergus) but it had never once been confirmed. This gave Fergus everything he’d wanted for 30+ years.

There was also the moment at the end of the wedding. After blessing Fersali, Father Fogden blessed the union between Claire and Jamie. It was that sweet moment fans had needed since the two reunited in episode 6.
